Peregrine — Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 14, 2026
Peregrine is a dry-fire laser training app for iPhone. It is owned and operated by Tyler Beattie ("Peregrine," "we," "us," or "our") in Austin, Texas, United States.
SUMMARY
- Peregrine does not require an account or sign-in. Normal training, camera analysis, settings, and History records stay on your device.
- Peregrine does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and it does not sell or share personal information for advertising or profiling.
- Peregrine does not automatically send your camera frames, training records, diagnostics, or support bundle to Tyler Beattie.
- Support is optional. If you choose to use the browser-based support form, email us, or share a support bundle, we receive only the information and files you choose to provide.
CAMERA AND ON-DEVICE TRAINING DATA
Peregrine uses the camera to locate a training laser on a target in real time. Normal camera frames are processed on-device and discarded. Peregrine does not save normal-use camera video to your Photo Library or transmit it to us.
Peregrine stores app settings and training History records, such as shot timing, scores, and related measurements, locally on your device. You can delete this local data by deleting the app.
If you enable iCloud Backup for your iPhone, iOS may include Peregrine History session records in that backup. This is an Apple backup service governed by Apple's privacy practices. Peregrine does not receive, access, or use those backup records.
DIAGNOSTICS AND SUPPORT BUNDLES
If you enable Apple's diagnostics sharing at the iOS system level, iOS may make performance or crash reports available to Peregrine through MetricKit. Peregrine stores those reports locally for troubleshooting and does not send them to us automatically.
Peregrine can create a support bundle only when you explicitly request it through the app and choose where to share it with the iOS share sheet. A support bundle may contain diagnostic logs; training session files and target snapshot images; app settings; and basic device and runtime information, such as device model, iOS version, locale, time zone, accessibility configuration, system uptime, memory information, and MetricKit reports. Depending on what you choose to include, a support bundle or other attachment can contain information that identifies you or another person. Do not send unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
CONTACTING SUPPORT
Peregrine offers an optional support form at tally.so that opens in your browser. The app does not pre-fill the form or automatically attach or transmit your session data, logs, device data, or camera data.
The current form asks for a bug-report summary, steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, and frequency. It also allows you to choose one optional file upload, such as a support bundle, screenshot, screen recording, or diagnostic video. Tally processes and stores the form submission and makes it available to us. We may receive a notification copy of a submission through Gmail when our form notification is enabled. Tally and Google handle their services under their own privacy terms.
You may also contact us at support@peregrinedryfire.com. Messages and attachments you send by email are handled as support records under this policy.
We use voluntary support reports and files only to investigate, respond to, and improve the reliability and security of Peregrine. We do not use them for advertising, marketing, sale, tracking, or profiling.
RETENTION AND DELETION
We delete resolved, duplicate, or spam support cases from our active support records within 30 days of resolution. We delete other support cases no later than 90 days after submission, unless a specific legal obligation, security investigation, or active user request reasonably requires longer retention.
You can request deletion of support information you sent to us by emailing support@peregrinedryfire.com. We will consider and act on verified requests as required by applicable law.
After we delete an active record, a provider may retain a limited residual copy in a backup or recovery system under its own documented practices. Gmail messages moved to Trash may remain there for up to 30 days before permanent deletion. We do not use records retained solely in provider backups or Trash.
INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT FOR NORMAL APP USE
During normal use, Peregrine does not collect your contacts, precise location, advertising identifier, browsing history, search history, purchase history, or information for tracking you across apps or websites. Peregrine does not create an account or ask for your name or email address in the app. A support report or attachment may contain personal information only if you choose to include it.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Peregrine is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information through support, contact us at support@peregrinedryfire.com so we can delete it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy to reflect changes to Peregrine or applicable law. The current version will show a new effective date when updated.
